The
mission of the PTA is child advocacy. The Myers Corners PTA
is a not-for-profit organization, coordinating programs that make school more
rewarding for our children.
Examples include Parents as Reading Partners, which encourages families to read
together, and Arts in Education, the
many in-school assemblies the children enjoy all year. The PTA helps with the
Kindergarten and Sixth Grade Welcome Picnics, publishes the yearbook, runs the
Reflections art competition, and much more. In addition, the State and National
PTA work to pass laws that protect children and improve their education.
Why join the
PTA? Your membership in the PTA helps
support these efforts. It also gives you the chance to know more about what is
happening at school, meet other parents, and stay connected. Parents, Grandparents, Guardians - all those
who agree with the PTA's mission may join.
Is it a lot
of work? Your membership in the PTA
is what you make of it. You can simply join, or get a little or very involved
in any of the programs. Whether you drop off a tray of brownies for a bake
sale, help with our newsletter and website, or volunteer at the Book Swap table
on Family Reading Night, your help is important and appreciated.
How can I learn more? Meetings are held monthly
at the school. (Click on the calendar link for details.) Or contact us for more information.
